“A King’s Gaze”
Charcoal Drawing
This piece is really close to my heart. I wanted to capture the powerful connection between Jesus and the lion—two representations of kingship, strength, and presence. On the left side, I drew the eye of Jesus, and if you look closely, you’ll see a cross reflected in His eye. That was intentional—symbolizing His sacrifice and the depth of His love and purpose.
On the right, I mirrored that gaze with the eye of a lion, referencing the Lion of Judah. It represents power, majesty, and divine authority. I wanted the two halves to flow into each other, showing that strength and compassion, leadership and sacrifice, can coexist in perfect unity.
I titled it “A King’s Gaze” because both eyes carry weight—they see, they know, and they protect. It’s about a deeper kind of kingship, one that’s rooted in both courage and love.
